Product DescriptionDie Studie verfolgt das Ziel, das Phnomen des Dandyismus darzustellen und zu erhellen. Sich auf die Werke von Brummell, PcklerMuskau, Balzac, Barbey dAurevilly, Baudelaire, Huysmans, Wilde, DAnnunzio, George und Proust beziehend, geht der Autor u.a. der Frage nach, welche sozialpsychologischen Verhltnisse dem Entstehen dandyistischer Erlebnisweisen im 19. Jahrhundert dienlich sind. Ferner untersucht er, weshalb der Dandy vor allem in transitorischen Epochen von sich reden macht, warum er in Deutschland kaum in Erscheinung getreten ist und ob der Dandyismus eine literarische Stilform oder lediglich eine elitre Lebensform darstellt. Die Studie verweist auf den ubiquitren Charakter des Dandyismus und kommt zu dem Schlu, da der Dandy den von manchen Theoretikern prophezeiten Niedergang berlebt und sich alsCamp bzw. alsTiger ins 20. Jahrhundert hinbergerettet hat.About the AuthorDer Autor: HansJoachim Schickedanz studierte von 19681972 Germanistik, Politologie und Philosophie in Frankfurt am Main und absolvierte 1975 das Referendariat fr das Lehramt an Gymnasien. Er promovierte 1977 bei H. Nicklas und V. Sigusch und arbeitet seit 1981 als Dozent fr deutsche Sprache und Literatur am Studienkolleg der Universitt in Frankfurt am Main. Verfasser von Buch und Zeitschriftenverffentlichungen zur Literatur des 19. Jahrhunderts (Schwerpunkt: Dekadenz und Fin de sicle).
