Zu Beginn der Arbeit wird zunchst eine definitorische Eingrenzung der Zielgruppe der so genannten 'Straenkinder' vorgenommen werden. Anschlieend folgt ein berblick ber rechtliche Grundlagen, die im Zusammenhang mit dem Thema der Arbeit von Bedeutung sind. Im weiteren Verlauf stehen die Straenkarrieren der Kinder und Jugendlichen im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchungen. Wichtige Stationen hierbei sind Ursachen, die zur Flucht auf die Strae fhrten, die Lebensweise auf der Strae und mgliche Interventionen, die den Ausstieg aus dem Straenleben ermglichen. Diese Stationen werden auf der Grundlage verschiedener Forschungsprojekte nher beschrieben und unter Zuhilfenahme geisteswissenschaftlicher Theorien analysiert. Am Ende der Darlegungen werden, in Auswertung der durch die vorangegangenen Betrachtungen gewonnenen Erkenntnisse, grundstzliche Richtlinien fr die sozialpdagogische Arbeit mit Straenkindern in Form von Thesen beschrieben.
