Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die beiden Artusromane nher zu betrachten, um Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten, besonders bezglich der Struktur, herauszuarbeiten. Da Hartmann von Aue mit dem Erec' und Iwein' die ersten beiden deutschen Artusromane verfasste, hat er in vielfach noch experimentierender Pionierleistung die Modellform dieser Dichtung verwirklicht und der neuen literarischen Aussage und Technik damit entscheidende Akzente gesetzt.' Aus diesem Grund ist die Beschftigung mit dem vorliegenden Thema von besonderem Interesse, um einerseits zu zeigen, dass die Werke bestimmten Gesetzmigkeiten unterliegen und andererseits auch einige markante Unterschiede aufweisen. Diese kommen zustande, da Hartmann die neue Form der Dichtung im Iwein' strukturell noch weiterentwickelte. Der erste Teil meiner Hausarbeit soll einen kurzen berblick geben ber die Person Hartmanns, ber die Entstehungszeit und den Inhalt seiner beiden Werke Erec' und Iwein'. Der Hauptteil, Kapitel 5 und 6, beschftigt sich zum einen mit dem strukturellen Vergleich der beiden Werke und zum anderen mit den Erkenntniswegen der Protagonisten. Im strukturellen Vergleich soll der von Hugo Kuhn beschriebene doppelte Kursus dargestellt werden. In diesem grundstzlichen Strukturmerkmal sind die beiden Heldenepen identisch, doch lassen sich in der jeweiligen Realisierung dieser Doppelstruktur auch einige Unterschiede finden.
