Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Anglistik Kultur und Landeskunde, Note: 1, Carl von Ossietzky Universitt Oldenburg (Anglistik), Veranstaltung: Kulturtheorien, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit widmet sich der Subkulturforschung im Rahmen der Cultural Studies und insbesondere der des Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies in Birmingham (Birmingham School). Es soll dargelegt werden in welcher Weise die Theorien ber Subkulturen sich in den Bereich der Cultural Studies eingliedern und somit die berlegungen der Wissenschaftler zweiter Generation an die Forschungsergebnisse der Kulturtheoretiker erster Generation des CCCS, wie zum Beispiel Richard Hoggarts und Raymond Williams anknpfen. Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit soll zunchst die Entstehungsgeschichte der Cultural Studies so wie der Wandel und die Neufassung des Kulturbegriffs beschrieben werden. Ich werde den kulturellen Diskurs am Beispiel der Forscher Richard Hoggart, Raymond Williams und Roland Barthes, bzw. an deren grundlegenden Erkenntnisse veranschaulichen. Das darauf folgende Kapitel skizziert die Anfnge der Subkulturforschung, ab den zwanziger Jahren, des amerikanischen Soziologen Albert K. Cohen. Der Hauptteil dieser Arbeit befasst sich mit den Forschungsergebnissen des Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies (CCCS) im Bereich subkultureller Strategien und Stilmerkmale. Dabei stehen der von Claude LeviStrauss geprgte Begriff Bricolage sowie die diesbezglichen Untersuchungen des Kulturwissenschaftlers Dick Hebdige im Fokus dieser Arbeit. Im Schlussteil werde ich den Wandel subkultureller Stilmerkmale am Beispiel der Punks darstellen. Es wird auf die Einflsse afrikanischer (Sub)Kulturen auf Punk eingegangen, sowie den Einfluss und Wandel afrikanischer Kulturen im Allgemeinen auf Subkulturen, errtert werden.
