Aber der heutige Staat kann sie nicht entbehren'. Treffender als Vialon vor knapp 50 Jahren kann man die Subventionierung und deren Auswirkungen auch heutzutage kaum beschreiben. Denn Subventionen spielen weiterhin eine bedeutende wirtschaftspolitische Rolle und erleben im Zuge der gegenwrtigen Wirtschaftskrise wieder einmal eine Renaissance. Mit groen Manahmebndeln, den Konjunkturpaketen I und II, und dem Sonderfonds zur Finanzmarktstabilisierung hat die Bundesregierung die seit 1998 bestehende Tendenz zum Subventionsabbau praktisch auf den Kopf gestellt. Subventionen spielten jedoch als staatliches Steuerungsmittel bereits vor der aktuellen Krise, allen Unkenrufen aus der Politik nach einem Subventionsabbau zum Trotz, eine bedeutende Rolle, auch wenn die ffentliche Verschuldung und Kritik von Seiten der Wirtschaftswissenschaften (vgl. Kap. 3) bis 2008 bereits zu einem merklichen Subventionsabbau gefhrt haben. Dagegen haben sowohl die deutsche Wiedervereinigung als auch insbesondere die Mitgliedschaft Deutschlands in der Europischen Gemeinschaft dazu beigetragen, das Subventionswesen nicht verkmmern zu lassen'. Aus aktuellem Anlass untersucht diese Arbeit die konomischen Auswirkungen der Subventionierung (vgl. Kap. 3) und stellt diese anschlieend am Beispiel der Abwrackprmie dar.
