But did Minnies foolish, cashstrapped family really have it in them to commit a crime this grisly? As a longtime fan of Hap and Leonard, I absolutely loved this installment! The story is gripping, and the characters feel like old friends. The writing is sharp and engaging, perfect for cozying up on a rainy day. Definitely worth adding to my collection!

Disappointed with the Storyline
I was really looking forward to Hap and Leonard 13, but I have to say I was disappointed. The plot felt rushed and some of the character development was lacking compared to previous books. I expected more depth. Not my favorite in the series.

Enjoyable but Lacks Some Spark
I found this book enjoyable but it didn't quite live up to the earlier ones in the series. The story had some interesting moments, but I felt it dragged a bit in the middle. Still, if you love Hap and Leonard, you might still appreciate this one!
