Supervision als Thema dieser Arbeit ist seit vielen Jahrzehnten im Bereich der Sozialarbeit etabliert und wird in den letzten Jahren verstrkt auch in anderen Arbeitsbereichen als Beratungsmethode geschtzt und angewendet. Vernderte Marktbedingungen, New Public Management, Lernende Organisationen, Qualittsmanagement sind nur einige Grnde, die umgehende Strukturanpassungen in Institutionen und Organisationen erforderlich machen. Supervision begleitet solche Vernderungsprozesse mit einer Vielzahl von Konzepten, Methoden und Arbeitsformen. Mitarbeitermotivation, Konfliktmanagement und Vorbeugung von BurnoutSyndromen knnen ebenfalls supervisorischer Arbeit zugeschrieben werden. Das Angebotsspektrum von Supervision reicht mittlerweile also von Einzelfallarbeit ber Teamsupervision bis hin zu Weiterentwicklung ganzer Organisationen. Die vorliegende Arbeit erhebt keinesfalls den Anspruch einer umfassenden Darstellung supervisorischer Konzepte und deren Wirksamkeit in der Praxis. Vielmehr widmen sich die folgenden Ausfhrungen zunchst grundlegenden theoretischen Hintergrnden: Was ist Supervision und woher kommt sie? Welche Ziele werden mit dieser Beratungsmethode verfolgt? Wie kann man sich das Setting einer Supervisionssitzung vorstellen? Was unterscheidet Supervision von anderen Beratungsformen? Wie luft ein Supervisionsprozess ab und welche Grenzen sind zu beachten?
