Zur Erreichung des gesteckten Zieles wird als Instrumentarium die Synergetik angewendet. Das Konsumentenverhalten wird ber individuelle bergangswahrscheinlichkeiten abgebildet. Diese bergangswahrscheinlichkeiten werden mit Hilfe der behavioristischen Lerntheorien begrndet. Der bergang von der Mikro zur Makroebene erfolgt mit Hilfe der Mastergleichung. Um Wiederkaufverhalten abbilden zu knnen, ist eine entsprechende Erweiterung der Mastergleichung inclusive approximativer Lsung dieser Gleichung ntig. In einem ersten Modell wird begrndet, wie es zu 'Nichtlinearitten' auf Mrkten kommen kann. Folge dieser 'Nichtlinearitten' sind LockIns, die jedoch auch endogen berwunden werden knnen. In den folgenden Kapiteln wird dieses Grundmodell variiert. Das Buch fhrt den Leser an ein neues Instrumentarium, die Synergetik, heran. Aufbauend auf betriebswirtschaftlichen Studien zur Ausbreitung neuer Produkte, wobei die Untersuchung meist aus der Sicht einer Unternehmung erfolgt, wird hier versucht, den Marktproze besser zu verstehen.
