Die KohlenmonoxydChemie hat sich infolge der technischen Bedeutung einiger ihrer Produkte im letzten Jahrzehnt krftig entwickelt. Eine Reihe ausgezeichneter Darstellungen ber Einzelgebiete liegen bereits mehrere Jahre zurck [110], und so scheint es an der Zeit, die Ergeb nisse von Forschung und Entwicklung zusammenzufassen. Ich habe des halb die an mich herangetragene Anregung des Springer Verlages zur Ab fassung einer Monographie ber die wichtigsten Synthesen mit Kohlen monoxyd in der organischen Chemie gern aufgegriffen. Es kann und soll nicht Zweck dieses Buches sein, einen erschpfenden berblick ber alle Reaktionen des Kohlenmonoxyds zu geben. Bewut werden seine der anorganischen Chemie zuzurechnenden Reaktionen aus geklammert, sofern sie nicht zum Verstndnis der Mechanismen oder der Katalysatorwirkungen notwendig sind. Auch sollen schon ausfhrlich behandelte Gebiete wie die FischerTropschSynthese [11, 12] und die Reaktionen von Kohlenmonoxyd mit Derivaten des Ammoniaks ausge lassen werden [13]. Auf diese Arbeiten sei hiermit verwiesen. Anregungen fr sptere Auflagen sind willkommen. Ich mchte an dieser Stelle nicht versumen, einer Reihe von Kollegen, die sehr wesentliche Beitrge zu dem vorliegenden Buch geliefert haben, herzlich zu danken.
