The emergence of nanoscience and nanotechnology in the last decade presents opportunities for exploring the bactericidal effect of metal nanoparticles. Copper nanoparticles in the present investigation have been synthesized by chemical reduction method using IPA as reducing agent and CTAB as a capping agent. The synthesized copper nanoparticles encapsulated with siddha drug Rajakalimbu. The copper nanoparticles entrap with siddha drug Rajakalimbu characterized by spectral studies ( UVVis spectroscopy) and microscopic studies (TEM, AFM). The antibacterial activity of CuNPs as well as drug loaded CuNPs will be investigated against the E.coli and S.aureus. The surface plasmon resonance band at 535nm indicates the formation of copper nanoparticles. The particle size obtained by TEM is 7.5nm. The XRD analysis revealed broad pattern for FCC crystal structure of copper metal. The particle size obtained XRD method using Debye Sherer is equation is 6.95nm. The drug encapsulated CuNPs exhibit excellent antibacterial activity against E.Coli and S.aureus when compared to the unbound drug.
