Das vorliegende Buch befasst sich einerseits mit den Strukturen des Heil/Sonderpdagogischensystems in der Schweiz, andererseits mit den Bedingungen einer gesunden Entwicklung von Kindern und Jugendlichen. Die Autorin sucht nach Grnden wieso trotz der Leitideen der Integration und Normalisierung in der Schweiz noch immer unverndert viele Kinder aus der Regelschule ausgesondert werden. Die Prozentzahlen der Kinder die in der Schweiz in segregierenden Settings gefrdert werden sind die hchsten in ganz Europa. Diese Praxis fhrt dazu, dass im Kanton Zrich mehr als 600 Kinder in speziellen Settings nicht nur gefrdert werden, sondern zumindestens zeitweise auch wohnen. Aufgrund dieser Praxis und der daraus entstehenden Lebensrume von Kindern mit einer Entwicklungsbeeintrchtigung geht die Autorin der Frage nach ob und wie, eine gesunde Entwicklung in einem solchen Umfeld mglich ist. Es wird aufgezeigt welche Auswirkungen Heimstrukturen auf die Entwicklung von Kinder haben knnen und wie diese zugunsten der Kinder verbessert werden knnten.
