Bad table manners are hard to stomach. I am the Table, and lately Ive been seeing a lot that I just dont like. Some kids (and a few adults, too!) forget to wash their sticky, gooey, germy hands. EEEWWWW! Others chew with their mouths wide open, letting bits of food fly. Their spit lands on everything... even on my shapely legs. HOW GROSS! And then some people are glued to their cell phones and video games. HOW RUDE! And why is there so much screeching, reaching, shoving and belching yes belching around me? Wont you please help me make it all stop? Awardwinning author Julia Cook serves up a satisfying message about the importance of using good manners at the table. Funny rhymes and colorful illustrations help young readers (and older ones, too!) learn the skills they need to know the next time they sit for a meal. Part of the Building Relationships book series, this story includes tips for parents and educators to help children demonstrate an understanding of being considerate and respectful. 31 pgs. The series also includes: Cliques Just Dont Make Cents Tease Monster Peer Pressure Gauge Hygiene... You Stink! I Want to Be the Only Dog The Judgmental Flower Rumor Has It... Making Friends Is an Art! Published by Boys Town Press ISBN: 9781934490976

Honestly, I thought this book would go deeper into table manners. It has some good points, but it felt a bit basic for my older kids. We still enjoyed it, but I wish there was more to engage them. Great illustrations though!

Not impressed with the delivery
The book itself is fine, but it arrived a week late and was slightly damaged. I still read through it, but the delay and the condition were disappointing. I hope the next time it ships faster!
