Heinz Bruno Heidt, Jahrgang 1925, erlebte das Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges als junger Soldat der 116. Panzerdivision ("WindhundDivision") im berchtigten Ruhrkessel. Am 14. April 1945 kapitulierten die dort eingeschlossenen deutschen Verbnde der Heeresgruppe B unter Generalfeldmarschall Walter Model. 325.000 Mann gingen in amerikanische Kriegsgefangenschaft. Fr Heinz Heidt begann damit eine 418 Tage lange leidvolle Odyssee durch mehrere Lager der USArmy. Er berlebte Hunger, Leid, Schikanen und Zwangsarbeit und hielt alles Tag fr Tag in zwei kleinen Taschenkalendern fest, die er durch die gesamte Gefangenschaft hindurch retten konnte und heute noch besitzt. Heidts Tagebuchaufzeichnungen sind derart interessant und fesselnd, da ihn bereits mehrere in und auslndische TV und Rundfunksender als Zeitzeuge interviewten.
