Der 103jhrige Komponist, Pianist, Lehrer und Ethnomusikologe Jeno Takcs (19022005) ist ein Symbol des 20. Jahrhunderts. Als Weltbrger kehrt er zu seinem Lebensende an seinen Geburtsort zurck, das in der Zwischenzeit selbst eine Metamorphose vom westungarischen Cinfalva in 1921 zum burgenlndischen Siegendorf durchmacht.Der erste Band zeichnet das romanhafte Leben Jeno Takcs' nach, erfolgt ihm nach Kairo und begleitet ihn auf seinen Feldforschungsreisen in Manila, berichtet ber Konzertreisen in China, Japan, Hong Kong, und erzhlt ber seine Lebensabschnitte in gypten, Philippinnen, Ungarn, USA und sterreich. Ebenso werden Takcs' Begegnungen mit zahllosen seiner Zeitgenossen geschildert, Musikern wie Hindemith, Milhaud und Menuhin, Bartk, Kodly etc. Zahlreichen Einflssen ausgesetzt setzt Takcs sein Lebenswerk unbeirrt fort. Alte und neue Elemente fgen sich in seinen Werken harmonisch zusammen, je nachdem, wie es der darin verborgene Gedanke verlangt. Der zweite Band bringt erstmals ein geordnetes vollstndiges Werkverzeichnis mit Incipits.
