ATIQ UZ ZAMAN considers waste as a symbol of inefficiency of our modern society. Optimum waste management systems is one of the key targets for the local government in every city. Author scrutinized the key drivers of technical development of waste sector in Sweden. A life cycle assessment of wastetoenergy technology is applied in this study. The aim of this master's thesis study is to analyse the driving forces in technical development in waste sector in Sweden. The aim also extended to identify emerging waste management technologies in Sweden. in addition, a comparative study of existing and emerging technologies is done by Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) model. An extensive literature review and pilot questionnaire survey among the waste management professionals is done for the study. LCA model is developed by SimaPro software and CML2 baseline method is used for identifying environmental burden from the waste technologies.
