Se tecnific la metodologa de stripping, para recolectar heces de Cachama blanca Piaractus brachypomus, usando una bomba de vaco y se hizo estudio de digestibilidad con cuatro materias primas no convencionales: Caup, yuca, bore y zapallo, en Arauca (AraucaColombia), donde se obtuvo una gran mejora de este mtodo, ya que se disminuy el tiempo de recoleccin de heces, la contaminacin de las mismas, adems de tener 0% de mortalidad en los animales; y finalmente se demostr que se puede hacer investigacin en digestibilidad en condiciones de campo abierto, obteniendo buenos resultados. En cuanto a la digestibilidad de los tratamientos, sta se vio seriamente disminuida debida probablemente a los altos contenidos de fibra y de ceniza de los mismos, por lo que no se recomienda usar una inclusin del 10% de las materias primas usadas, en alimentacin para P. brachypomus en etapa de engorde.
