Una amplia introduccin sita los textos en su contexto arqueolgico y literario preciso y traza la historia de su descubrimiento y publicacin. El captulo final recoge una lista completa de todos los manuscritos encontrados en cada una de las Cuevas de Qumrn, acompaada de una breve descripcin y de las referencias biogrficas fundamentales.
