On September 11, 21, before Americans could make sense of the attack on the World Trade Center towers in New York City, the unthinkable happened. A hijacked plane had crashed into another of Americas great buildings: the Pentagon. This book covers the history of the Pentagon building; the crash of American Airlines Flight 77; Al Qaeda, the terrorist network behind the attack; and the efforts to rebuild the damaged Pentagon.

I appreciated the depth of research in this book, but some parts felt overwhelming. The author goes into great detail about the events of 9/11, which is great for history buffs, but I found it a bit hard to digest at times. Still, it’s an important story to tell.

Deeply moving narrative
This book really brings the events of 9/11 to life, especially the Pentagon attack. The descriptions are haunting, and it’s a reminder of our history. I bought it for my history class, and it sparked some excellent discussions.

Disappointing delivery experience
The book itself is good, but it took way longer to arrive than I expected. The packaging was also a bit damaged, which was frustrating. Still, the content is what really matters, and it’s worth it for anyone looking to understand the events more deeply.

Important historical account
Reading about the attack on the Pentagon was deeply moving and informative. The book is well-structured, making it easy to follow. I think every American should read this to fully understand that day in history. I’ll definitely be sharing it with friends.

Not what I expected
I was hoping for more personal stories, but the book focused a lot on timelines and facts. While I appreciate the thoroughness, it felt a bit detached. Great for academic purposes, but I wanted more emotion tied to the events.
