Discover the underdog story of how America came to dominate beer stylistically in Tom Acitellis The Audacity of Hops: The History of Americas Craft Beer Revolution, the first and only history book on American craft beer.Based on extensive archival research as well as interviews with the movements key players going back to the 1960s, this acclaimed book is the most comprehensive chronicle yet of one of the most interesting and lucrative culinary trends in the U.S. since World War II.Acitelli weaves the story of the rise of American craft beer into the tales of trends like Slow Food and the rebirth of Americas urban areas, and paints an unforgettable portrait of plucky entrepreneurial triumph. The backgrounds on all your favorite craft brewers are here, including often forgotten heroes from the movements earliest days as well as the history of homebrewing since Prohibition. This is the book for the craft beer nerd who thinks he or she already knows the story (Los Angeles Times) as well as for fans of good food and drink in general.

I found 'The Audacity of Hops' to be a decent read, though it felt a bit surface-level at times. While it covers the major milestones in craft beer, I wish it had gone deeper into certain topics. Still, it's a good introduction for newcomers, just not what I expected.

A Deep Dive into Craft Beer
This book offers such a rich history of craft beer in America. It’s informative and engaging, perfect for anyone who loves beer and wants to know more about its evolution. I especially enjoyed the personal stories of the brewers featured throughout the chapters.

Not What I Hoped For
I was really excited to get this book, but it came with some pages that were wrinkled and the cover had a crease. The content is decent, but the presentation really took away from my enjoyment of it. I’d recommend checking it out at a library first.
