Others have written SF on the theme of immortality, but in The Boat of a Million Years, Poul Anderson made it his own. Early in human history, certain individuals were born who live on, unaging, undying, through the centuries and millenia. We follow them through over 2000 years, up to our time and beyondto the promise of utopia, and to the challenge of the stars.A milestone in modern science fiction, a New York Times Notable Book on its first publication in 1989, this is one of a great writers finest works.

This book, 'The Boat of a Million Years,' is unlike anything I’ve ever read. The concept is fascinating, spanning centuries, but I found myself getting lost in some of the more complex parts. Definitely worth a read if you’re into deep sci-fi, just be prepared to focus!

A unique read but dense at times

Intriguing premise, slow at times
I had high hopes for 'The Boat of a Million Years,' and while the story is intriguing, it dragged in parts. The pacing could be better, but the overall concept kept me coming back to find out what happens next. A mixed bag for sure!

Not for me, sadly
I wanted to like 'The Boat of a Million Years,' but it just didn't click. The themes are interesting, but I found it hard to connect with the characters. It arrived in good condition, but ultimately, it wasn't the story I hoped for.
