Although hundreds of articles are available on internet about the subject of this work, this book aims to provide, within the covers of one book, much of the information available on the embryological and morphological aspects of the bovine testis. It involves also a comprehensive review for the development and structure of testis in other animals. It includes a separate chapter for the methodology to enable the interested reader to reproduce these methods easily. Additionally, this book provides interpretations for the presence of sugar residues and some proteins in the bovine testis. In the near future, the functional aspects of these sugars and proteins may be used for clinical applications in the field of male infertility. This work has been awarded the Alumni price for the best thesis in the summer semester 2005 in LMU, Munich, Germany. Therefore, it is hoped that what I have produced will not only be a source of information but, in many areas, it will be an enjoyable, educational read.
