This hardcover journal is based on Titian Ramsay Peales The Butterflies of North America, an unpublished nineteenthcentury manuscript equivalent in scope to Audubons Birds of America. Inspired by the collagelike quality of Peales original notes and drawings, the journal features an exposed binding, a foilstamped cover, a removable halfjacket, and artwork scattered throughout the blank and lined pages. Peales manuscript is now housed in Rare Book Collection of the American Museum of Natural Historys Library. Also see: The Butterflies of North America: Titian Peales Lost Manuscript (9781419717840) and The Butterflies of Titian Ramsay Peale Notecards (9781419718069).
