I really, really love this story. Jon KlassenLemony Snicket meets Grimms fairy tales in an outrageously original picture book debut by BAFTA Awardwinning and Oscarnominated animation director Mikey Please. In The Caf at the Edge of the Woods, an aspiring chef opens a caf beside an enchanted forest and discovers locals with a most peculiar palette.Rene and Glumfoot are ready to serve Very Fine Cuisine at the Caf at the Edge of the Woods. But when their first customer, an ogre, demands pickled bats and battered mice,Rene is ready to give up! She cant possibly serve such rubbish. Or can she? With a little bit of compromise, perhaps she can satisfy her customer and still serve the most delicious grub.Full of humor, unlikely friendship, themes of teamwork, and unexpected surprises, this charming and hilarious picture book is a winning recipe for readers who loved A Spoonful of Frogs by Casey Lyall, The Dark by Lemony Snicket, The Skull by Jon Klassen, and any fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm!

Honestly, I thought this would be a quaint little spot, but it was too crowded. The atmosphere lost its charm when we had to sit inside, and the noise made it hard to enjoy my coffee. I might try again during the week when it’s less busy.

Lovely place, but service is a bit slow
I really liked the atmosphere at The Caf at the Edge of the Woods. The coffee was great, but I felt like we waited a bit too long for our orders. Still, I’d come back because the vibe is hard to beat!

A hidden gem for food lovers
This place surprised me with their menu options! Everything from pastries to sandwiches is fresh and tasty. I brought my friends, and we all enjoyed our meals. It does get busy on weekends, so try to go early!

A delightful experience near the woods
I loved visiting The Caf at the Edge of the Woods! The setting is so peaceful, and the staff was friendly. The homemade scones were a hit with my family. I’ll definitely be recommending this to other friends!

Perfect spot for nature lovers
If you enjoy being close to nature, this café is the place to go! The views are stunning, and the outdoor seating is a bonus. I just wish they had more vegan options on the menu. But I had a great time, and I'll be back!
