The Classics a voyage of discovery is a skillsbased resource that develops key reading and research skills using authentic narrative and poetry texts. This book contains 14 lesson plans, each accompanied by an original classic or modern text, a research skills section to support and encourage independent research skills, differentiated book reviews that enable children to comment upon each text they read and a CD containing a biography of each author and differentiated research activities. All modern and classic texts have been carefully chosen to engage young children with our literary heritage. Texts featured in this series include those of: Carol Ann Duffy, Valerie Bloom, Roger McGough, Jonathan Swift, Robert Louis Stevenson and William Wordsworth.
