The EUs General Data Protection Regulation created the position of corporate Data Protection Officer (DPO), who is empowered to ensure the organization is compliant with all aspects of the new data protection regime. Organizations must now appoint and designate a DPO. I bought this thinking it would be more of a guide rather than a textbook. The info is good, but it's too dry and academic for my taste. I was hoping for more practical tips and less theory. Disappointed with the approach, but it's not completely useless.

As someone starting my journey as a Data Protection Officer, this book really lays out the rules and responsibilities clearly. It's packed with practical advice and real-life examples that make it easier to grasp all the complex regulations. I feel much more prepared for my role after reading it!

Very informative but a bit dense
This book covers the role and rules of a DPO in great detail, which is great for someone experienced. However, some sections felt a bit overwhelming with legal jargon. It definitely needs a second read to fully absorb everything. Still, it's a solid resource for compliance officers like me.
