Product Description The first biography for children ages 12 plus. Written by a journalist, it is a straight account of the life of the founder of the Christian Science Church, from birth to death. Illustrated with both photographs and drawings most of which are appearing for the first time. Even longtime students of Christian Science will learn something new about this remarkable woman. Before starting the manuscript, Cynthia interviewed children age 12 plus asking them what they would want to know Mary Baker Eddy. The first draft was reviewed by several children who all thought it did not contain sufficient information. Ten thousand words later several children pronounced it now worthy of publication. Review "Thank you so much for the book about Mrs. Eddy that teenagers can read and appreciate." Clerk, Chrisitian Church, February 2001"What a beautiful job you did with the biography of Mrs. Eddy. Our granddaughter bought it and read it." Private letter, January 21, 2001"Your book is excellent. I would like two more copies." Private letter, January 15, 2001 About the Author Cynthia Parsons is a lifelong Christian Scientist who really disliked the cloying biographies written for children about Mary Baker Eddy. She served at the Christian Science Monitor, as the education editor for 14 years. Was a school teacher for 14 years, and is the author of eleven books, most dealing with education. She lived for 37 years in a oneroom schoolhouse in Vermont and is now living in Scottsdale, Arizona.
