This work, being an exposition of the higher principles and purposes of the Shariah, is intended to address opposing Islamic political parties. The author analyzes instances of judicial disagreement between the early jurists, and clarifying that the disagreements or differences over the points of law and procedure between those jurists, never led them to lose sight of the higher purposes of the Shariah or their responsibilities.

I was looking for something more accessible. This book goes into great depth, which is good for academics but I struggled to connect with it. The issues are relevant, but it felt too scholarly for my casual reading preference.

A Thought-Provoking Read
The Ethics of Disagreement in Islam really dives deep into some complex issues in Islamic thought. As someone who's exploring different perspectives, I found it incredibly enlightening. The discussions are nuanced and well-articulated, making it a great addition to my library.

Interesting but Dense
I appreciated the focus on disagreement within Islamic thought, but the writing felt a bit heavy at times. I had to reread some sections to fully grasp the concepts. Still, it's a valuable resource for anyone looking to deepen their understanding.
