She has written extensively on issues that impact the familyseveral of her published articles are listed in the references section at the back of this text.Outside of her academic pursuits, Professor Ward served as a member and secretary of the Board of Directors for the Sudbury Juvenile Services from 1981 to 1983. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Children's Aid Society for the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin from 1974 to 1982. The mother of eleven children, eight of whom are adopted, she has received two Adoption Activist Awards for her writings on adoption.Prior to her retirement, Professor Ward was a member of the Cambrian College faculty where she had taught since 1985. During her tenure, she presented several courses, including Developmental Psychology, Marriage and the Family, and Introductory Behavioural Science. Before joining Cambrian, she had taught at a number of high schools in the Sudbury area.Margaret now divides her time between Ontario and Arizona.
