First Edition, 1979 Edition, Excellent dust jacket: few speckles of white in gold letter print lost on front cover; 4 point like indentations in upper half of white cover, side cover has more indentations in the thick book cover, and the back numerous pen like indentations in the middle, BUT NO COLORED MARKS, like finely embossed lines in paper. DOES NOT DETRACT FROM THE OVERALL APPEARANCE. A perfect fresh, clean, unmarked and firmly bound copy. Pages crisp and fine. Bound in heavy black/white woven cloth with oval color illustration pasted on front cover within gilt borders; gilt spine lettering. Cover is perfectly clean. Binding and hinges perfect. Outside bottom pages have pin hole like indentations, very superficial; top and side pages perfect. All printed pages within book perfect, like new. On the inside first page is neatly printed, last name of owner and "Christmas, 1979". This massive and beautifully illustrated book, reproduced the largest number of Currier & Ives ever in one volume including several never before published. Over 400 illustrations of which more than 300 are in full color. 12 x 151/4"; 488 pages. illustration pasted on front cover within gilt borders; gilt spine lettering.
