A kit containing the text and two audio CDs. The Idiom Book introduces students of the English language to 1010 American English idioms. In each unit ten idioms are used in four exercises. First students read a conversational dialogue in which the idioms are underlined. Then they read a short paragraph, usually in the form of a note or email, in which the idioms are again used. However, this time the idioms have been replaced by blanks which the students fill in. Next the students match the idioms to the definitions. And finally they write paraphrases of ten sentences using the idioms. The first two exercises in each lesson are recorded the audio CDs.
