From twotime Pulitzer Prizewinning historian Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr., comes one of the most important and influential investigations of the American presidency. The Imperial Presidency traces the growth of presidential power over two centuries, from George Washington to George W. Bush, examining how it has both served and harmed the Constitution and what Americans can do about it in years to come. The book that gave the phrase imperial presidency to the language, this is a work of substantial scholarship written with lucidity, charm, and wit (The New Yorker).

As a huge fan of American history, I found The Imperial Presidency to be a great read. It covers a lot of ground and gives a clear perspective on the presidency's growth over the years. A must-read for anyone interested in political science!

A Deep Dive into History
The Imperial Presidency offers a fascinating look at the evolution of executive power in America. It’s well-researched and full of details that make you think about how much influence the presidency really has. I found the writing engaging and the arguments well-structured; it’s definitely a book I’ll be revisiting!

Disappointed with the Delivery
I was excited to read The Imperial Presidency, but it arrived three days late and the packaging was kind of damaged. Luckily, the content itself was good, but that shipping experience was frustrating.

Too Many Details for My Taste
I appreciate the effort that went into writing The Imperial Presidency, but at times it felt a bit too dense. There were sections with so much detail that I lost track of the main points. Still, there are valuable insights for those really into political history.

Interesting but Slow at Times
The book is filled with interesting points, but some parts drag on a bit. The Imperial Presidency definitely gets into the nitty-gritty of political theory which can be overwhelming. Still, I learned a lot about the power dynamics in the executive branch.
