The origins of the Irish Wolfhound stretch so far back that it is almost a creature of legend; folklore is full of tales of the faithfulness of these great hounds.Author Linda Gover provides an indepth history of the breed, from earliest times through to Captain Graham's revival of the breed in the 1800's, and bringing us up to date with modern show history. Other topics covered include breeding, obedience work and lure coursing. Linda Gover has owned Wolfhounds for over 20 years under her 'Owenmore' affix and. although breeding only occasionally, she has made up several Irish champions. Owenmore hounds have also gained titles in Great Britain and the United States. She is licensed to judge Irish Wolfhounds and other hound breeds at championship level. Her love of the breed and her expertise are evident throughout the book.
