The Kanga an African Cloth, attempts to fill a gap in the cultural history of the Swahili coast with its vibrant connections to central Africa, west Africa, Europe and the Middle East by exploring stories of the kanga. In addition the book contains the only printed collection of kangas from the mid1880's to the present. There are color photos of more than 150 kangas with many translations of the text. It concludes with an excellent bibliography for those interested in further research into this highly interesting cloth.
