Raised in an atheist household, Sally Read nevertheless saw images of the Blessed Virgin Mary from earliest childhoodand they remained with her in the most remarkable ways. Conscious of the conflict between her feminist values and what came to be a fascination with Marian art, Readthrough tumultuous relationships, loneliness, and distant placesbegan a unique quest to discover the true essence of Mary. These pages contain the strange, raw, and epiphanyfilled stories that led to Reads dramatic ninemonth conversion from atheism to Catholicism. Focusing not only on Reads life but also on the lives of others who, knowingly or unknowingly, encountered the Virgin, this literary memoir is a testimony of how a Mother patiently brought one child home to her Sonand slowly revealed her own heart.

Honestly, I was hoping for more depth in the arguments made throughout the book. It felt more like an opinion piece rather than a thorough exploration. Still, it was a decent read.

Interesting, But Not Perfect
The book is compelling and well-written, but I found some arguments a bit repetitive. Still, it offers a lot to think about for anyone questioning their beliefs. Worth a read if you're curious.
