Why do so many world-changing insights come from people with little or no related experience? Charles Darwin was a geologist when he proposed the theory of evolution. And it was an astronomer who finally explained what happened to the dinosaurs.
Frans Johansson’s The Medici Effect shows how breakthrough ideas most often occur when we bring concepts from one field into a new, unfamiliar territory, and offers examples how we can turn the ideas we discover into path-breaking innovations.

I bought this copy of 'The Medici Effect' thinking it would be more focused on business strategies. It has some great insights, but it felt a bit scattered at times. Also, the used condition was okay, but I expected a bit better quality. Still, some good ideas in there!

Not impressed with the quality
I was disappointed with the condition of 'The Medici Effect'. Some pages were torn and it smelled a bit musty. The ideas in the book are interesting, but I would have preferred a better copy. I wouldn’t buy used again unless I could inspect the condition first.

Thought-Provoking Insights
I picked up 'The Medici Effect' in used condition and it’s been a fascinating read! The examples of elephants and epidemics as metaphors for innovation really hit home. Some pages had minor wear, but the content is gold—definitely worth it for anyone in a creative field.
