The Missing Piece, Episode I of the Ark Trilogy introduces readers to Eylam, the grandson of Noah, the builder of the Ark. Although Eylam is mentioned in the scriptures as the first son of Shem, we are left with a mystery. Where was this boy during that great flood? The answer is simple. Eylam was on the Ark. Well, in this episode, he is off the Ark longer than he is on it. The tale begins with a surprised Eylam landing on the Ark and after a series of misadventures on the middle deck, he is rescued. However, since Eylam has a propensity for getting into trouble, he embarks on an unexpected journey when a mischievous monkey leads him back off the Ark and into the wilderness. Eylam spends the next seven days trying to return. On his odyssey, he encounters danger and evil in many forms, barely escaping each time. He also meets Shoshanna, a girl who is smarter and braver than he is. At the end of this book, Eylam struggles desperately to get onto the Ark as the deadly deluge begins.
