From the front flap of this 570 page book: Volume One of The Nature of Hypnosis and Suggestion shows Ericksons development of a nonauthoritarian, indirect approach to suggestion. Subjects are shown experiencing hypnotic phenomena, utilizing their own potentials, and solving their own problems under Ericksons guidance. Papers are grouped in four areas: Nature of Hypnosis, Approaches to Trance Induction, Nature of Suggestion, and Possible Dangers of Hypnosis.

As a hypnotherapy student, I found this first volume to be incredibly helpful. Erickson's unique approaches and techniques are well-documented here. It’s been a great addition to my studies, even if a few sections were difficult to digest.

Interesting but required patience
This volume is packed with insightful concepts, but getting through it took me longer than I expected. Some of the language is quite academic. If you’re not familiar with hypnosis, it might be a challenging read. Still worth it if you persevere!

Classic works, timeless insights
Milton H. Erickson's papers are a classic in the field of hypnosis. I loved how the ideas presented are still applicable today. It's a great read for professionals and those curious about the power of suggestion. Really enjoyed it!
