I was looking forward to this commentary but received it with a few pages torn. Also, the layout is cluttered and hard to navigate. For the price, I expected better quality. I'll probably look for a different commentary next time.

Insightful but a bit overwhelming
This commentary series is detailed and informative, especially the parts on 1 & 2 Samuel. However, I found the writing style a tad complex for casual reading. I wish it had a bit more practical application sections to help me connect the themes better!

Great resource for biblical studies
I picked up Volume II of The New Interpreter's Bible Commentary for my church study group. The introductions to the narratives on Joshua, Judges, and Ruth are clear and really insightful. It's been a huge help in leading discussions, though it is pretty dense at times!
