A farreaching deconstruction of neoliberalisms economic agenda, political imposition and mystifying techniquesExploring the genesis of neoliberalism, and the political and economic circumstances of its deployment, Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval dispel numerous common misconceptions. Neoliberalism is neither a return to classical liberalism nor the restoration of pure capitalism. To misinterpret neoliberalism is to fail to understand what is new about it: far from viewing the market as a natural given that limits state action, neoliberalism seeks to construct the market and use it as a model for governments. Only once this is grasped will its opponents be able to meet the unprecedented political and intellectual challenge it poses.

I expected more from this book given the hype. Some parts felt overly biased and lacked concrete examples to back the claims. I appreciate it tackles an important topic, but it didn’t engage me like I hoped.

Thought-Provoking Insights on Society
I picked up 'The New Way of the World' hoping for a deep dive into neoliberalism, and it definitely delivered! The arguments are well-structured and opened my eyes to issues I hadn’t considered before. It’s not exactly light reading, but if you're interested in current societal dynamics, it's worth your time.

Interesting but Heavy Read
This book on neoliberalism has some profound insights, but it can be a bit dense at times. I found myself rereading sections to really grasp the concepts. Good for anyone serious about social issues, but probably not for casual reading.
