A moody, comingofage tale for fans of Miss Peregrines Home for Pecular Children and Nimona, filled with fairies and ogres and magic galore.Autumn Ackerman grew up believing in fairies and magic and princesses who defeated dragons, but now that shes eighteen and facing a future stuck behind the counter of her small towns coffee shop, shes starting to wonder if this is all there really is to her life. But then she meets her childhood imaginary friend, Barnaby, in the alley behind the coffee shop one night. Autumns entire world is turned upside down.Drawn into the strange and mysterious world of the Night Folk, fantastic creatures that inspired all of humanitys myths about gods and monsters, Autumn is about to discover that there is more to her world than she ever dreamed of as a little girl, and that world is far more dangerous than she could ever have imagined. With the help of Barnaby and Evan Fade, the tragic young boy who inherited the local bookstore, Autumn has to protect herself from the coldly terrifying Mr. Balloon long enough to discover the truth about the Night Folk and her own past.

'The October Girl' is such a magical tale! The imagery is stunning and the writing flows so well. I loved the autumn vibes throughout — it really set the mood for my reading experience.

Took a Chance, and It Paid Off!
I picked up this book on a whim and was not disappointed! The storytelling is compelling, and I found myself really connecting with the main character. Looking forward to more from this series!

Disappointed with the Quality
I really wanted to love this book, but my copy arrived with damaged pages. The story seems good, but I couldn't get past the poor condition it came in. Pretty bummed.

Interesting Premise, But Somewhat Slow
This book has a really cool premise, but it took a while to really grab my attention. I enjoyed it overall, but I felt like some parts dragged on. Hoping the sequel picks up the pace!

A Captivating Read from Start to Finish
I absolutely loved 'The October Girl, Book One.' The characters were beautifully written, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait for the next one!
