The performance of Hydraulic turbine installed in Nepalese power plant was studied with the efficiency measurements of Jhimruk Hydro Power Plant for Francis turbine and Khimti Hydro Power Plant for Pelton turbine in different units and times. The thermodynamic efficiency measurements were carried out at unit 1 in Khimti Hydro Power Plant. These were done on 24th May, 2004 and 11th Oct., 2004. The hydraulic efficiencies were 89.73% and 89.68% at the best efficiency point. The efficiency measured in October is slightly lower than best efficiency point. The sediment monitoring in the same period have indicated that approximately 1677 tons of sediment has passed through this unit during test period.
