Dr. Armenti puts to rest a number of popular sports-related misconceptions and accounts for phenomena that, for many, have been a source of wonder since childhood. Why does a golf ball have dimples? How can a sailboat travel almost directly into the wind? Readers will find the answers eye-opening. For general science readers and students and teachers of either physics or sports.

I thought this would be more general and easier to digest. The physics is quite detailed, which might be tough for someone new to the subject. I guess it's great for anyone serious about sports science, but I was hoping for something lighter.

Engaging and Informative Read
I picked up 'The Physics of Sports Vol. 1' for my son who's into both science and sports. He found the concepts really engaging, and it’s written in a way that makes complex ideas easy to understand. The illustrations are a nice touch too!

Great for Students, but
While I loved how 'The Physics of Sports' tackled important concepts, I struggled a bit with some of the math involved. I think it’s better suited for students who already have a background in physics. Still, it's definitely a unique textbook!

Solid Book for Sports Enthusiasts
This book covers some interesting topics about how physics applies to sports. As a coach, I found some insights that I could use to explain techniques to my team. However, some chapters felt a bit dense for casual readers. Overall, a solid choice!
