This thought provoking examination of relationships critically looks at issues such as economics, self esteem, compatibility, trust, and communication from an Africentric perspective. Anyone who has asked the questions, Where are all the brothers? or Why is the divorce rate so high?, will find answers and solutions in this valuable book.

I had high hopes for this book based on the reviews, but it didn’t resonate with me. The writing style didn’t click, and I found it hard to get into. Maybe it’s just not my style!

A Deeply Moving Read!
This book really captures the complexities of love and relationships within the Black community. The storytelling is raw and emotional; I felt so connected to the characters. I bought it for my book club, and everyone loved it!

Good, but not what I expected
I enjoyed some parts of the book, but a few sections felt a bit repetitive. The themes were important, but I wish there was more variety in the stories. Still, I think it’s worth a read for anyone interested in exploring Black love.

Powerful but heavy material
The topics discussed in this book weighed heavily on my heart. It’s definitely not a light read, but it opened my eyes to the struggles and joys of Black love. Just be prepared for some tough moments.
