The work that Maurice MerleauPonty planned to call The Prose of the World, or Introduction to the Prose of the World, was unfinished at the time of his death. The book was to constitute the first section of a twopart work whose aim was to offer, as an extension of his Phenomenology of Perception, a theory of truth. This editions editor, Claude Lefort, has interpreted and transcribed the surviving typescript, reproducing MerleauPontys own notes and adding documentation and commentary.

I picked this up on a whim and ended up engrossed in the discussions around phenomenology. The essays sparked some great conversations in my philosophy group. Definitely something I’ll refer back to for future studies.

Disappointed with Content
I expected more from this book since it was recommended by a professor. The writing felt convoluted and not very accessible. I couldn't connect with the material, and honestly, I wish I hadn't purchased it.
