In this story, Corbilina, who has no voice, shows a young child and her grandmother how kindness transforms sadness whenever you listen with respect. Children learn how actions, not just words, demonstrate compassion. Corbilina encourages kindness to the environment by leaving heart shapes in nature, which remind children and adults to value Planet Earth. Children will not only enjoy the story but will engage their imaginations when they answer creative questions at the end of the story. These questions open the door for conversations to build selfesteem and to encourage greater awareness and concern for the needs of others.
