In his Introduction, Stephen Miller analyzes the printing of the quarto and relates it to previous studies of Shakespeare quartos also printed by Short. He gives an account of the controversy surrounding the relation of A Shrew to the text of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, first printed in the First Folio of 1623, and supplies a table of scenebyscene correspondences between the two texts.ReviewMiller's efforts in both these volumes give us immediate and reliable access to the text and to the problems attendant on that text and on the text of Shakespeare's Shrew.
