Product Description Although the arrival of the information age in Korea coincided with similar developments in other Asian countries, the particular political, cultural and economic context on the Korean peninsula renders this story unique. In the 1980s Korea's basic telecommunications infrastructure grew fasterthan that of virtually any other country in the world. This book synthesizes existing research on the topic, gathers new documentary data, and extends the analysis through a series of interviews with leaders from government, industry, research institutes and academia in Korea. About the Author James F. Larson is a faculty member in the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Associate Director for Asia Programs at the University's Center for Advanced Research Training in Telecommunications
