About the Author Ed Mahfouz is a retired secondary school teacher who taught science and mathematics. He was also a professor who lectured at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa. As well, Mahfouz coached successful athletic teams at the secondary school level including soccer, badminton (goodminton) and basketball. He is presently a coowner of Steak & Caesar restaurant (a fine eatery). Furthermore, Mahfouz continues to be an active volunteer in his community and is determined to improve the quality of life amongst his peers. Hence, Mahfouz is the main organizer of a Thanksgiving Dinner for the less fortunate in Ottawa held annually at Sir Guy Carleton S.S. In the 20 years of service with his school board, Ed Mahfouz had stunningly kept a perfect attendance record. He attributed that considerably to the three "Es" approach.
