A neurologists view of our response to trauma. Our experiences of trauma sow the seeds of many persistent and misunderstood medical problems such as chronic fatigue syndrome and various maladies of the immune system. Because of our inadequate understanding of the relationship of mind and body in processing these traumas, many of us suffer needlessly from our exposure to lifes traumas. Robert Scaer offers hope to those who wish to transform trauma and better understand their lives.

I was hoping for more personal stories, but the book is very academic. It’s well-researched, but I found it hard to connect with. A few chapters felt dry which made it tough to get through. Might work for those deeply interested in the field but not for casual readers.

An Eye-Opener on Resiliency
This book dives deep into the complexities of trauma and how humans cope. I found the insights on hidden wounds particularly moving. It's a fantastic resource for anyone looking to understand more about resilience in the face of adversity.

Informative but Dense at Times
I appreciated the breadth of research presented in this book, but some sections felt a bit overwhelming. It’s packed with valuable information, just be ready to take your time with it. Definitely worth the read if you're interested in trauma studies.
