There has been a lot written about trucks and truck drivers and how difficult they can make driving for the average person. This raises the question 'do they get sufficient training before they are let loose on an unsuspecting public?' In many cases the answer is a resounding 'No'. So what's being done about it? In many countries the answer is very little but, however, there may be a soultion in the Truck Simulator. This book seeks to raise some awareness about the simulator in New Zealand. At the time of initial publication of the thesis this is based around there were no dedicated truck simulators in New Zealand and this research looked at the possibility of one being imported and how it might affect the training paradigm in New Zealand. The simulator in question has now arrived and has opened up the opportunity for further evaluation as to it's effectiveness.
